University Approach to Casting Children's Roles for Easter Pageant
For many years, the UMHB Easter Pageant has included children in a number of scenes depicting Christ’s interactions with the people of His day. The number of children wanting to be a part of the pageant has gradually grown far beyond the original size envisioned for this group, to the point that this year the university will be limiting the number of roles for children.
The purpose of the Easter Pageant is twofold: to give UMHB students the opportunity to be involved in depicting the Easter story, and to share that story with the surrounding community. To make certain that as many college students as possible can be part of the production on a set that is limited in size, participation will be open only to the children or grandchildren of UMHB employees or students.
Working with children from our surrounding communities has been a blessing, and we regret that these new limitations must be put in place. We appreciate the understanding of those who have participated in the pageant in recent years and hope that all will continue to make attending the pageant a part of their plans for celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
