Lydia Hughes

CMBI Chairman

Lydia is a senior music education major at Mary Hardin-Baylor this year. This is her second year as CMBI Chairman. Lydia has served on the BandCRU, formerly KKY, executive council as the secretary for the 2020-2021 school year. She is currently one of the Cru Spirit Band Field Commanders, and is also a member of the UMHB Wind Ensemble.

Madison Edgar

CMBI Vice Chairman

Madison Edgar is a sophomore music education major at Mary Hardin-Baylor this year. She is the Service Coordinator for the BandCRU this year, and is a part of the Cru Spirit Band, Wind Ensemble, and Brass Ensemble.

Michael J. Garasi

Associate Professor- Instrumental Music

Moving from South Florida to Central Texas in 2020 to accept a position at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, Mr. Garasi is currently Associate Professor of Instrumental Music, where he conducts and gives direction to the Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, CRU Spirit Band and teaches Conducting, Band and Orchestra Literature. Mr. Garasi has held positions as the Artistic Director/Conductor of the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Conductor of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Philharmonia, and has been actively involved in public and private school music education conducting bands and orchestras in Florida, Texas, Michigan, Arkansas, New York, Indiana and New Mexico.
