Ensembles: Choral
If you have a passion for singing, consider joining a UMHB choir! This opportunity not only allows you to connect with new individuals on campus but also enables you to contribute to the university and the surrounding community. All choirs welcome participants from any major. The choirs at UMHB are committed to achieving excellence, expressing gratitude to God for our abilities, and glorifying Him through our service.
Concert Choir
Concert Choir is open to all UMHB students, by audition, at the beginning of each school year. Current membership represents a variety of disciplines including Music, Christian Studies, Nursing, Business, Sociology and Computer Science. Concert Choir rehearses three days per week: MWF from 12:00-12:50 PM. Repertoire encompasses mixed-voice literature from a variety of historical periods, with special emphasis on the great 'a cappella' tradition. As ambassadors for the university, the choir regularly tours from coast to coast. Most recently, in November 2023, they traveled to Carnegie Hall in New York City, to perform Heather Sorenson's Requiem, conducted by the composer. For more information, please contact Dr. Michelle Roueché.
