The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has announced that Dr. Hunter Sims will become the new Vice President for Athletics this coming June. This is due to the upcoming retirement of Randy Mann.
Sims is the Athletic Director for Howard Payne University and has spent the past two decades in the American Southwest Conference as a player, coach, and administrator.
Some of his accomplishments include renovations to multiple athletic facilities, an apparel sponsorship with Nike and BSN Sports and a charter bus agreement with VIP Sports Charters.
Sims has also spent time serving on multiple NCAA committees including the National Committee for Grants and the National Football Playoff Committee for Division III. He is also currently Chair of Athletic Directors for the ASC and the ASC Football AD Liaison
In an email sent to UMHB students Dr. Theodore Steve commented, “We look forward to Hunter’s arrival and to continuing excellence within the UMHB athletic programs under his leadership and vision.”
