Sara Simmons is an assistant professor in the Scott & White School of Nursing, in the Maborn College of Health Sciences. Sara has been a dedicated nursing professional for 29 years, with extensive experience in critical care, day surgery, preoperative/post-anesthesia care management, and serving as a Director of Nursing. In 2021, Sara transitioned into higher education as a nursing professor, where she discovered a deep passion for teaching and shaping the next generation of nurses. Sara's wealth of clinical experience and leadership expertise enriches their role as an educator, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students.
Sara has been married for 26 years and they have one kiddo in college. She is an avid mountain biker and loves the outdoors. Sara and her husband attend Crossroads Church in Belton, TX
