- Our Sigma Pi chemistry student club has been an American Chemical Society (ACS) student chapter since 1977.
- Activities include taking students to national conferences, UMHB chemistry alumni speaker seminars, Demos in the Dark, Science Saturday, National Chemistry Week, Earth Day, Adopt-A-Highway, Chemistry with The Cru, and National STEM Day.
