Curriculum Vitae (Résumé)

Dr. Bias joined the faculty in 2014 after serving on the faculty at Baylor University (2012-2014) and the University of North Texas (2010-2012). Prior to that, he held both faculty and clinical roles at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Mississippi State University. He earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University, completed his clinical internship at the University Counseling & Testing Center at the University of Oregon and a postdoctoral fellowship with the Counseling Services at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Originally from Midland, Texas, Dr. Bias and his family are members at Vista Community Church in Temple. His wife, Dair T. Chevalier, M.D., is a pediatric anesthesiologist at the Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple. Together they have a son, Bexar Arthur, and a daughter, Zadie Bell. In his spare time, Dr. Bias enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, watching and attending college & professional sporting events, listening to music, and reading.

Research Interests

Dr. Bias is interested in developing and applying innovative approaches to higher education. His research interests include interpersonal relationships, lifespan development, teasing, and men’s issues.
