Curriculum Vitae (Résumé)
Dr. Willey earned his Doctorate of Education degree from Texas A&M University in 2000 and was awarded both a master and bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served onboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation. Prior to joining UMHB, Dr. Willey was a Texas public school administrator for twenty-two years to include serving as the principal of Copperas Cove High School from 2002-2007, the Assistant Superintendent of Cameron ISD from 2009-2015, and the Chief Academic Officer for Taylor ISD from 2018-2021.
Dr. Willey is married to Anita who is a middle school counselor. They have a blended family of three adult chidren and a teenager. They attend Saint Thomas More Church and are involved in various church activities to include the Advent Giving Tree. George is also supports the Brazos Emmaus Community. He has been an active member of Rotary International since 2000 and is involved with American Legion Post #302 where he serves as the Veterans' Service Officer.
