Curriculum Vitae (Résumé)
Dr. Ian Ekery joined UMHB as an assistant professor in the Summer of 2022 after having previously served as an adjunct instructor for the program. He graduated as a member of the inaugural cohort in the UMHB DPT program in 2017. After he graduated, Dr. Ekery took a job in Fort Worth working in an outpatient orthopedic facility. He has spent the past three years as a full-time clinician and clinical instructor at TMI Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Arlington, Texas which serves as the primary medical provider for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars. Prior to teaching at UMHB, he had served as the lead instructor for the Therapeutic Exercise course in Texas Wesleyan University’s Kinesiology department since 2019. Dr. Ekery has been a member of the Sports and Orthopedic sections within the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA) since 2015. In addition, he also serves as a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in January 2016. Dr. Ekery and his wife, Macy have three dogs: Elvis, Storie, and Marvel and they attend the Vista Community Church in Temple, Texas.
