Curriculum Vitae (Résumé)
Dr. Barbara Gresham is the Founding Director and Professor of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UMHB. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings, with a focus on geriatrics and clinic administration, and has more than 30 years of experience in physical therapy education. Dr. Gresham earned her physical therapy degree at UT Southwestern in Dallas and completed her PhD in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in geriatrics (GCS). She has served on the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, including 2 years as chair, and is an active and involved member of the American Physical Therapy Association/Texas Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Gresham is the current TPTA Treasurer and recently served for 5 years as a mentor for the APTA Fellowship in Higher Education Leadership.
Dr. Gresham and her husband, a retired high school football/soccer coach, live near Moody and are members of Oak Grove Baptist Church. They enjoy spending time with family, including 5 grandchildren, outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and kayaking, and traveling to new places.
