BELTON, Texas—The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) College of Visual and Performing Arts invites high school students considering a future in art or music to campus on Friday, January 26, 2024, for a full day immersed in the arts. The ArtsRush 2024 experience will include specialized activities, performances, food, and a t-shirt.
Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Baugh Center for the Visual Arts. Music participants should bring their own instrument for their day in the life of a UMHB music major. The art experience includes a drawing marathon alongside UMHB art faculty and students, so participants are encouraged to bring their favorite drawing materials. ArtsRush will end with a musical concert at 7:00 p.m., followed by an art reception at 8:00 p.m.
"After rebooting ArtsRush last January, we are excited to offer the event for the second year in a row,” said Dr. Jared Hunt, UMHB music professor. “We have taken some of the favorite elements from last year and added more to give prospective students the experience of being a student in the UMHB College of Visual and Performing Arts. Arrive eager and leave inspired!"
Registration is $30 and is required for attendance. To register, visit www.umhb.edu/visual-performing-arts/artsrush. For questions related to music, contact Dr. Jared Hunt jhunt@umhb.edu, and for art questions, reach out to Stephanie Chambers at schambers@umhb.edu.
