BELTON, Texas— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s (UMHB) McLane College of Business offers five graduate certificates for non-degree-seeking students. Earning a professional certificate enables individuals to acquire skills and expertise in a particular job function or career that will grow their knowledge base and enhance their opportunities. UMHB’s certificate programs include Non-Profit Administration and Leadership, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Information Security Management, and Supply Chain Management.
“Pursuing a graduate certificate demonstrates a commitment to growth and can help people achieve an advantage in the workplace, which may lead to job opportunities, promotion, a higher pay scale, and job security,” explained Dr. Ken Smith, Dean of the McLane College of Business.
Graduate certificates are available for students with bachelor’s degrees with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above from an accredited college or university. A graduate certificate requires the completion of 12 credit hours consisting of four courses. Students earning all 12 hours of certificate credit with a GPA of 3.0 or above may be able to apply those hours toward one of UMHB’s business graduate degrees.
“After spending nearly 30 years in the non-profit industry, I wanted to spend time in a more formal training environment, learning current non-profit trends and industry-specific strategies that could help me further my career,” said Stephanie O’Banion, President and CEO of United Way, Central Texas. “That led me to the Non-Profit Administration and Leadership graduate certificate program at UMHB. I am now equipped with the vision for positive change in communities where I serve, am better prepared to make a lasting impact in today’s non-profit sector, and desire to use my skills and knowledge to influence a new generation of non-profit leaders.”
