BELTON, Texas—Spring classes begin at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) on Monday, January 9. The university is excited to welcome students back to campus and classrooms. UMHB’s first chapel service of the semester will be led by Dean of Spiritual Life Jason Palmer on Wednesday, January 11.
UMHB’s College of Visual and Performing Arts has several events planned throughout the month of January. The art department will showcase the Deb Barnes memorial art exhibit Monday through Friday, from January 9 through February 9, with a reception and gallery talk at the Baugh Center for the Visual Arts on Thursday, January 12, at 5 p.m. The music department will host the Meehan/Perkins Percussion Duo for a special guest artist concert on Tuesday, January 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center. On Thursday, January 19, at 2 p.m., the UMHB campus and surrounding community will enjoy a Dean’s Series lecture entitled “Sean Oswald: Portraiture and the Imago Dei.” The following week, Friday, January 27, at 7:30 p.m., UMHB’s Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, Dr. Kathryn Fouse, will hold a Dean’s Series piano concert entitled “Let the Games Continue.” Both Dean’s Series events are free, open to the public, and will be held in the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center.
Cru Athletics also has several home games in January. They begin on Thursday, January 12, when UMHB basketball hosts Hardin-Simmons University at the Mayborn Campus Center.
