BELTON, Texas—The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) is pleased to welcome acclaimed men’s vocal ensemble Cantus for an exciting performance of My Journey Yours on Friday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Baugh Performance Hall inside the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at the box office Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and one hour before showtime. General admission is $20, and tickets for children (ages 6-18) and seniors (age 65+) are $10. Admission is free for UMHB students, employees and alumni with the presentation of a valid CruCard or Alumni Card.
In its 27th year, Cantus is touring the country for the first time since March 2020, and UMHB is the second stop on the tour. My Journey Yours is a program exploring the courage of those who leave their homes searching for a brighter future, whether by choice, force or necessity – and how they adapt to their new homeland. This program honors the struggle, courage and deep humanity of migration with music from around the world, as well as a newly commissioned piece by Melissa Dunphy, one of today’s most compelling compositional voices.
“We are honored to host Cantus at UMHB and fortunate to be a part of their national tour,” said Dr. Kathryn Fouse, dean of UMHB’s College of Visual and Performing Arts. “Our music students and professors, along with the entire student body and community, will enjoy their engaging performance. We’re in for a real treat!”
