Belton, Texas – Music was not always easy for Jacob Dellinger. Diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, he often found himself overwhelmed and knocked off balance by loud sounds. Today, he is a music education major at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. On Friday, March 22, he and a group of friends organized a special, free concert for people who, like him, struggle with sensory issues.
The Free Sensory-Friendly Concert was organized by members of UMHB chapter of the Kappa Kappa Psi, the honor society for band members. It was held in the Beltonian Theater in downtown Belton. The concert featured musical selections that were curated by Dellinger for their gentleness.
