Belton, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor hosted the 2019 Crusader Knights competition on Saturday, February 23. Mr. Gettys Hall, Richard Rogers of Lubbock, was dubbed this year’s Mr. Crusader Knight.
This year, 16 men participated in the Olympics-themed competition and were judged in four categories: interview, video, spotlight, and campus vote. The other finalists were: first runner up Samuel Kinnin of Early, representing Circle K; second runner up Connor Tubbs of Beaumont, representing First Year Collective; third runner up Dakota Stark of Allen, representing NSA; fourth runner up Carter Williams Jr. of Houston, representing Burt Hall; and fifth runner up Seth Blankenship of Sugar Land, representing SearchCru.
The director of this year’s contest was Danny Martinez of Murrieta, California. His assistant directors were Peter Zuniga of Cedar Creek, Texas and Lauren Turner of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Crusader Knights began in 1993 as a fundraiser led by the Senior Class. Men from various campus organizations, housing, and classes compete for the title of “Mr. Crusader Knight.”
