Belton, Texas – As part of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s annual Missions Emphasis Week, a special World Tour event was held on Monday, October 15. The walk-through event was intended to give participants a taste of some of the cultures of visiting missionaries.
Hannah Murray, a junior Christian Studies major, was one of the co-directors of Missions Emphasis Week and helped organize the event.
“We really wanted to showcase the culture that all of the missionaries were serving,” Murray said. “We wanted them to be able to hang out with the missionaries and see their culture in interactive ways.”
More than a dozen missionaries took part in the event, hosting booths dedicated to the regions in which they serve. Some brought games, snacks, or simulations of the daily lives of their community members. Some even brought musical instruments from their region and performed praise and worship that would be authentic to their field.
