Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Homecoming weekend begins Friday, October 26. This year’s celebration includes popular events from previous years and new opportunities for alumni to connect with one another and with current UMHB students. These events are only open to UMHB students, alumni, and their families.
Homecoming 2018 will feature traditions like the carnival on King Street, Stunt Night, and Pep Rally. Jeff Sutton, Director of Alumni Relations and Museum, has worked to create some new additions to the schedule. One such event is the Nursing Alumni Reunion.
“We’ve invited a handful of nursing alumni back to engage in a panel discussion with our current undergraduate students,” Sutton said. “They’ll be sharing their nursing experiences, which range from being one year past graduation to being thirty or forty years past graduation.”
Sutton has also reintroduced an old event, Breakfast with the Presidents. UMHB President Randy O’Rear and Dr. Jerry Bawcom, President Emeritus, will host the casual come-and-go reception Saturday morning in Hardy Hall. Hardy was previously the home of the university’s residential dining area, but it has been renovated to serve as the headquarters of the Mayborn College of Health Sciences. Alumni will be able to tour the newly renovated facility, enjoy coffee and doughnuts, and talk with two of the men responsible for shaping the present and future of UMHB.
