Belton, Texas – Miss Phi Alpha, Briana Frederickson, was crowned Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor 2019, Saturday, November 3, in the annual Miss MHB Pageant held in W.W. Walton Chapel on the UMHB campus.
Reigning Miss MHB Tori Beard crowned Frederickson at the end of the evening’s contest.
Unlike other pageants, Miss MHB celebrates young women with self-confidence, personality, and inner beauty. Each of the evening’s 19 competitors represents a different class or organization. They also each champion a platform of their choosing. Frederickson’s platform is “Domestic Violence-Breaking the Cycle.”
Frederickson is a senior Social Work major from San Antonio. She is the daughter of Anna and Tomis Calhoun. Frederickson is involved in Concert Choir, is an intern at the Harker Heights Police Department, and is a musician at Lakeview Baptist Church.
Other finalists in the top five were: Miss Student Foundation, Madison Henry; Miss Baptist Student Ministry, Lynsey May; Miss Independence Village, Scarlett Jetty; and Miss McLane Hall, Hannah DeFranco.
