Belton, Texas – On Saturday, October 6, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Athletic Department will host its second annual TOUCHDOWNS event in conjunction with Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
Families and caregivers of children with Down Syndrome are invited to register to take part in this year’s TOUCHDOWNS event. Each member of the family will receive free admission to Saturday’s game against the Cowboys of Hardin-Simmons University. Athletes with Down Syndrome will also have the chance to take the field and score a touchdown during halftime.
While the game will not begin until 6:00 p.m., there will be a tailgate party for TOUCHDOWNS participants at 4:30 p.m. in the Bawcom Student Union. Then, TOUCHDOWNS participants will gather in the south end zone before halftime for their special recognition.
All members of the special needs community can enjoy free admission by using the keyword “TOUCHDOWNS” at any ticket gate on game day.
