Belton, Texas – Watson Scholars’ Day will be held on Monday, November 13. Sponsored by the UMHB Office of Research, Watson Scholars’ Day highlights undergraduate and graduate student research projects, papers, and scholastic work of all kinds. There will be nearly 30 posters, papers, and creative works presented in the Bawcom Student Union on the UMHB campus. This event is free and open to the public.
Student authors will be present papers from 11:00 to 12:15 p.m. in the McLane Great Hall on the 3rd floor of the Bawcom Student Union. Posters will be available for viewing from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. in the 3rd floor lobby outside of the McLane Great Hall.
The posters and papers represent student research from across all UMHB’s academic disciplines. This year’s topics range from studies of electrical muscle stimulation, to video game engines, to the nature of love.
Student research papers are equally diverse in topics, featuring titles such as, “Finding Unique Benefits of Airbnb” by Sriram Agasthyaraju and Damadhar reddy Yedavelli, “Child Life and Parent Satisfaction,” by Kathryn Parker, and “Food, Drink, and Faith: Dostoevsky’s Symbolism in Crime and Punishment and Brothers Karamazov,” by Emily Maulding.
