Belton, Texas – On Thursday, March 2, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor University Singers will perform “Five Expressions” at 7:30 p.m. in the Manning Chapel of the Meyer Christian Studies Building on the UMHB campus. This event is free and open to the public.
“Five Expressions” features an eclectic array of works for choir and string quartet by composers from five different centuries. The choir will be conducted by Matthew Crosby and will feature student conductor Greggory Miller.
This concert qualifies as a Fine Arts Experience (FAE) credit for UMHB students. The Fine Arts Experience program is designed to help students gain an appreciation for the fine arts in many forms during their time on campus. To this end, students are required to attend at least one designated Fine Arts Experience event each semester.
The performance will include each of the following works: Du Friedefürst, Herr Jesu Christ by Dietrich Buxtehude; Two Psalms and a Proverb, III. How long wilt Thou forget me, O Lord? by Ned Rorem; Across the Vast Eternal Sky by Ola Gjeilo; Elegischer Gesang by Ludwig van Beethoven; and O God Beyond All Praising by Gustav Holst and Dan Forrest.
