Belton, Texas –The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will host its 9th Annual Watson Scholars’ Day on Monday, April 3, inside the Bawcom Student Union on the UMHB campus. Sponsored by the UMHB Office of Research, Watson Scholars’ Day highlights undergraduate and graduate student research projects, papers, and artwork. More than 30 posters, papers, and creative works will be exhibited. This event is free and open to the public
Student authors will be present from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for a poster session in the lobby of the McLane Great Hall on the 3rd floor of the Bawcom Student Union. Posters will be available for viewing in the second floor lobby area. Student papers will be presented throughout the morning in Conference Rooms C and D in the McLane Great Hall.
Dr. Heather Francis, who served as an Assistant Professor at Baylor Scott & White from 2011 to 2016 and now serves as an Associate Professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, will present a guest lecture titled “Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: An expanding epidemic.” This lecture will take place at 11:15 a.m. in the McLane Great Hall.
The posters and papers represent student research from across all academic disciplines and cover a variety of subjects. For example, poster presentations explore topics like biodegradable skin emollients, teaching standards, and online security. Research papers examine a broad range of topics from reading comprehension and literary criticism to parking satisfaction among UMHB students.
