Belton, Texas - Nineteen singers from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Department of Music competed at the Texoma Region National Association of Teachers of Singing Conference at the West Texas A & M University in Canyon, TX, Nov. 2-5, 2016. Students competed with singers of the same gender and length of study from colleges, and universities in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
Eight singers from UMHB were honored as semi-finalists in their divisions. Semi-finalists included Katie White, student of Penny Hogan; Savannah Sepulveda and Julia Brown, students of Lisa Clement; Chaz Corder and Tiffany Collazo, students of George Hogan; and Cardarious Bonner, Matthew McKinnon, and Hannah Killough, students of Guy Wilson.
Tiffany Collazo, student of George Hogan, won first place in the senior women division.
Piano accompanists for the event were UMHB Assistant Professor Matt Crosby and Opera/Musical Theatre accompanist Nelda Milligan.
