Belton, Texas –The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is proud to announce that alumnus Jeff Sutton (’07) will join the Development Department as the new Director of Alumni Relations on Monday, January 2.
“I am excited to reconnect with alumni I already know, and I am honored to uphold our great traditions while building lasting relationships with alumni I have yet to meet,” Sutton said.
Sutton is a familiar face in the UMHB campus community, having served for the last nine years as the Assistant Director of Campus Activities.
“Sutton combines a wealth of institutional knowledge, a love for his alma mater, and nine years of experience with event and relationship management,” Dr. Rebecca O’Banion, Vice President for Development said. “and I am confident he will be a great visionary leader for UMHB.”
Sutton graduated from UMHB with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion in 2007. During his years as a student, he served as a ministry intern at First Baptist Church of Belton and participated in local and international mission efforts through the nonprofit group Hope for the Hungry. Sutton’s commitment to Christian service was recognized when he was selected as a senior to portray Christ in the university’s 68th annual Easter Pageant. Since joining the UMHB staff as Assistant Director of Campus Activities, he has overseen programming for undergraduate student activities and supervised the planning and staging of annual events such as Family Weekend, Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor Pageant, Crusader Knights, and the Easter Pageant.
Sutton is married to Jen Savage Sutton (‘07), who works as Director of Children’s Ministries at Hope for the Hungry. They have two children, four-year-old Jude and one-month-old Millie. They are members of First Baptist Church of Belton, where Sutton serves as a deacon.
