Belton, Texas – Friday, September 2, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor announced that its fall enrollment had once again broken school records. For the eighth consecutive year UMHB has reported the highest fall enrollment in its history.
According to the official eighth-day enrollment figures, UMHB is now home to 3,906 students. That is just 8 more than the 3,898 students who enrolled in the fall of 2015. This year’s enrollment includes 3,278 undergraduate students, 463 students pursuing master’s degrees, and 165 doctoral students.
The freshman class enrollment totaled 750 this fall, which again breaks last fall’s record of 726 students. The previous record for a freshman class had been 711 students in fall 2014.
Two new programs contributed to this year’s numbers. First, this fall saw the launch of the university’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Also, MyWay at UMHB, a fully-online degree program to be offered by the university, began enrolling students in August. Unlike traditional programs, MyWay operates on a subscription model that allows new students to enroll each month and work towards their degree on their own schedule and at their own pace.
UMHB was chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas. It is a private, Christian university affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The university is known for its personal attention to students and for high academic standards.
