Belton, Texas –Miss Student United Way, Bridgit Sillman was crowned Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor 2017, Saturday, November 12, in the annual Miss MHB Pageant.
Reigning Miss MHB Karon Chapa crowned Sillman at the conclusion of the evening’s contest.
Unlike other pageants, Miss MHB celebrates young woman with self-confidence, personality, and inner beauty. Each of the evening’s twenty competitors represent a different class or organization. They also each champion a platform of their choosing. Sillman’s platform is “Advocating for children with Emotional Disorders.”
Sillman’s passion for American Sign Language was on display during the talent portion of the evening as she performed Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” in sign.
Sillman is a junior education major from Katy. She is the daughter of Chris and Anessa Sillman. During her time at UMHB, she has been involved in Search Cru, Association of Texas Professional Educators, and Best Buddies.
