Belton, TX – On Saturday, November 12, the University will hold its annual Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor Pageant at 7:00 p.m. in the W.W. Walton Chapel on the UMHB campus. Following the competition, a reception will be held in the McLane Great Hall of the Bawcom Student Union to celebrate the winner.
Unlike other pageants, Miss MHB recognizes a young woman’s self-confidence, personality, and inner beauty. This year twenty young ladies will compete for the title on behalf of various university organizations, residence halls, and classes.
The contestants participate in an evening gown walk and compete in an interview round. Judging criteria will include personality, confidence, diction, and sincerity.
They will also perform their talents, which range from the more traditional singing and dancing to magic, acro yoga, and more. The ladies will be judged based on their creativity, originality, preparedness, confidence, the appropriateness of their props and costumes, and the overall presentation.
