Nicholas McElroy loves telling people “malai Nepal man parchha” which means “I love Nepal!” The junior health science pre-PA student was selected as a recipient of this year’s Young Alumni Board Scholarship which helped pay his way to go on the mission trip to the small South Asian country. Not only did he get a chance to share the Gospel with others in a remote village, but the trip allowed his faith to grow as well.
“At times I was really scared about affording this trip. I was also spiritually scared because I wasn’t sure how God was moving in my life. He called me, and I answered, and I put all my trust in Him for this trip to be possible.”
Nicholas recalls when he learned he was selected for the scholarship.
“I wanted to scream and thank (the Young Alumni Board) immediately! If I was standing in front of them right now, I would say thank you for helping my faith become a revelation. I could not count on my fingers the number of times I worried about paying for the trip. With your help, that worry was no longer a distraction, and I was able to give the Lord my undivided attention. I am so grateful for all that you do for students like me, and if I could see you now, I would give you the biggest hug and thank you so much!”
