Internships

All students majoring in Computer Science and Engineering are required to complete a minimum of 300 hours of practical experience while enrolled at UMHB, through full-time employment, part-time employment, internships, apprenticeships, international experiences, or co-op experiences. Professors work to match students to opportunities for paid internships, but students can also seek other positions on their own with approval by CSEP faculty.

Students often find that their internships become important stepping stones for landing their first jobs. In recent years, students have served as interns with local employers such as CGI, Texas Hydraulics, Stratasys, and McLane Advanced Technologies, as well as companies more far afield such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Dell, and General Motors.
