Study Abroad
Nursing students who would like to learn more about nursing from a global perspective may take part in study abroad trips planned by members of the nursing faculty. Past trips have taken students to such far-away places as the Dominican Republic, Peru, Costa Rica, and Kenya. The trips vary in their emphases; some are designed to let students observe how healthcare is practiced in other countries, while others take the form of mission trips where students provide health education and care to people who live in remote locations, far from the nearest doctors or clinics. Students receive course credit for the trips, and scholarships are available to help offset the costs of travel and tuition.
