Welcome
Welcome to the Master of Public Health (MPH) program website! I am excited that you are eager to learn more about the MPH program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The School of Exercise and Sport Science, which is housed in the Mayborn College of Health Sciences, offers the MPH degree with a health promotion concentration that prepares students for a career as a public health professional. The curriculum also prepares students for the certified health education specialist (CHES®) certification exam.
To ensure successful career development, faculty in the School of Exercise and Sport Science establish strong, individualized mentorship with students early in the program, and provide opportunities for the development of practice and research skills essential for future public health leaders. During the final semester, students are able to gain practical experience through an internship at an extramural agency. The online nature of the program provides students flexibility to complete the MPH concurrently with their other obligations.
I encourage you to explore the website to learn more about the MPH program, and invite you to visit our campus to see the opportunities that UMHB can provide along the road to a rewarding career in public health. Thank you for visiting our site!
Sincerely,
Ariane Hollub Secrest, Ph.D., OTR, CHES
Public Health Program Director and Assistant Professor, School of Exercise & Sport Science
