Bachelor's Degree Requirements

For both the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program as well as the Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling Program the following bachelor's degree requirements apply to any applicant/student in or interested in the program:

To enter either of these 60-credit programs, the student must have completed a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university with a major in psychology or closely related field with a minimum of 12 credit hours of psychology or social sciences. The hours of undergraduate psychology must include but are not necessarily limited to, a general introduction to psychology course, a human growth and development course, a course in abnormal behavior, and a statistics or research course.

If a bachelor's degree in another area of study has been attained, the applicant must complete the 12 credit hours of psychology or social sciences as indicated above with approval from the program director.
