Celebrating 175 Years of UMHB Dinner
February 1, 2020
It was an evening to remember as alumni and friends gathered to celebrate the signing of the university’s charter on February 1, 1845. Proclamations and congratulations were presented by Texas State Representative Hugh Shine and Belton Mayor Marion Grayson, and greetings were relayed from Texas State Senator Dawn Buckingham. Dinner was served family style, reminiscent of dinners in Hardy Hall, and OneVoice led the audience in singing campus favorites from yesteryear. A traditional candle lighting ceremony completed the evening, and guests departed to the sound of the Belton Bell tolling 175 times.
